Stess during COVID-19

Outbreaks can be stressful

The outbreak of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) may be stressful for people. Fear and anxiety about a disease can be overwhelming and cause strong emotions in adults and children. Coping with stress will make you, the people you care about, and your community stronger.

Stress during an infectious disease outbreak can include

  • Fear and worry about your own health and the health of your loved ones

  • Changes in sleep or eating patterns

  • Difficulty sleeping or concentrating

  • Worsening of chronic health problems

  • Worsening of mental health conditions

  • Increased use of alcohol, tobacco or other drugs

Things to do to keep your mind healthy during Covid-19 quarantine.

Be mindful of how much news you watch everyday. Too much news creates a platform of uncertainty which creates fear.

Get back to the basics. This is a time to reset your life and get rid of somethings that no longer fit in you life. Also to start that project that you now have time for. Be creative.

Spend time with God and family

Play games. Puzzles, cards, board games, digital games are not only fun, but it keeps your mind off the stress of what's going with the pandemic.

Go for a walk or a bike ride using the social distancing parameters.
